2. Acceptance of Terms

By submitting an enquiry, leaving a watch for service, or accepting a written quotation from Cogvane, you indicate that you have read and agree to these Terms and Conditions in full.

  • You confirm that you are at least 18 years of age or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
  • You confirm that you have the legal right and authority to enter this Agreement.
  • If acting on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to bind that organisation to these Terms.

3. Service Description

Cogvane provides skilled watch repair and maintenance work from its workshop in Phuket, Thailand. Current service offerings include:

  • Water-Resistance Check & Reseal — gasket replacement, crown and case-back inspection, and external cleaning, suited to watches exposed to coastal conditions.
  • Quartz & Hybrid Service — full service for quartz and solar movements, including cell or capacitor checks, contact cleaning, and timing observation.
  • Automatic Movement Restoration — detailed restoration of self-winding movements, covering teardown, component inspection, regulation, and an extended accuracy period.

All services are carried out on-site at our Phuket workshop. We may occasionally refer specialist work to trusted third-party providers; where this occurs, we will inform the Client in advance. Services are available to Clients in Thailand and to those who are able to deliver timepieces to our premises directly.

4. Client Responsibilities

When placing a watch in the care of Cogvane, Clients agree to:

  • Provide accurate information about the watch, its history, and any known faults.
  • Confirm that they own the watch or have the owner's permission to engage repair services.
  • Collect the watch within 30 days of receiving a completion notification. Items left beyond this period may incur a storage fee of ฿500 per week.
  • Not use this website in any way that is unlawful, harmful, or disruptive to others.
  • Not submit enquiries containing false, misleading, or fraudulent information.

5. Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including text, condition reports, layout, and imagery — is the property of Cogvane or its licensors. Nothing on this site grants any right to reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written consent.

Clients may view and print pages from this website for personal reference only. Commercial use of any content is not permitted. If a Client provides us with photographs or documents about their watch, they grant Cogvane a limited, non-exclusive right to use that material solely for the purpose of completing the agreed service.

6. Payment Terms

All service prices are quoted in Thai Baht (฿) and include standard labour. Parts replacements, where required, may be quoted separately and will be agreed in writing before any additional work proceeds.

Published prices are:

  • Water-Resistance Check & Reseal: ฿4,500
  • Quartz & Hybrid Service: ฿12,500
  • Automatic Movement Restoration: ฿30,000

Payment is due upon completion and before collection of the watch. We accept cash (Thai Baht), major debit and credit cards, and bank transfer. Cogvane reserves the right to retain a watch until full payment is received. We do not offer credit or deferred payment arrangements.

Quotations are valid for 14 calendar days from the date of issue. Prices may vary if, upon opening, the movement reveals additional requirements beyond those evident at intake.

7. Service-Specific Terms

Intake Assessment

On receipt, each watch undergoes an initial visual assessment. We will contact the Client with a written summary of findings and a fixed-price quote before commencing any work. Work begins only upon the Client's written or verbal confirmation.

Scope Changes

If additional faults are discovered during service, we will pause, notify the Client, and seek approval before continuing. No additional charges will be applied without the Client's consent.

Service Records

For Automatic Movement Restoration, Cogvane produces a documented record of components reviewed and any parts refreshed. This record is provided to the Client on collection.

Turnaround Timeframes

Estimated timeframes provided at intake are indicative and not binding. We will inform the Client promptly if a delay occurs. Cogvane is not liable for losses arising from delays beyond our reasonable control.

Declined Work

Cogvane reserves the right to decline any service request, for example where a watch presents risks we are not equipped to manage, or where the work falls outside our current scope.

8. Disclaimers

Cogvane provides services with reasonable skill and care. However, we do not represent that any particular outcome — including a specific accuracy rating or water-resistance depth — will be achieved following service, as watch condition prior to intake and the age of components are variables outside our control.

Information on this website is provided in good faith for general guidance. It does not constitute professional advice on the value, authenticity, or condition of any specific timepiece.

This website is provided "as available" and we make no representation that it will be free from errors or uninterrupted.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Thai law, Cogvane's total liability to any Client in connection with a service shall not exceed the amount paid by the Client for that specific service.

We shall not be liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of use of a watch during service, loss of profits, or sentimental value.

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

In cases of force majeure — including natural disasters, flooding, fire, or civil unrest — Cogvane will not be held liable for delays or inability to fulfil the Agreement.

10. Indemnification

Clients agree to hold Cogvane, its staff, and associates harmless from any claim, demand, or expense arising from: (a) a breach of these Terms; (b) the provision of inaccurate information by the Client; or (c) a claim by a third party that the Client did not have authority to submit the watch for service.

11. Termination

A Client may withdraw from a service agreement before work commences without charge. Once work has begun, reasonable costs for labour and parts already applied may be charged.

Cogvane may terminate an agreement if the Client provides false information, engages in abusive conduct toward staff, or fails to collect or pay for a completed watch within a reasonable period.

Provisions relating to payment, intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitations of liability survive the termination of any individual agreement.

12. Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of Thailand. Any dispute arising from a service or from use of this website is subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Phuket Province, Thailand.

Where a dispute arises, we encourage Clients to contact us first at [email protected] so that we may seek an informal resolution within 14 days. If no resolution is reached, either party may refer the matter to mediation before commencing formal proceedings.

Consumer protections under the Thai Consumer Protection Act B.E. 2522 (1979) and related regulations remain unaffected by these Terms.

13. General Provisions

Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with any written quotation or service record, form the complete agreement between Cogvane and the Client regarding the relevant service.

Severability: If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.

Waiver: Failure by Cogvane to enforce any provision on one occasion does not waive the right to enforce it on another.

Assignment: Clients may not transfer their rights or obligations under an Agreement without our written consent. Cogvane may transfer its rights to a successor entity without affecting Client rights.

Notices: Formal notices should be sent to Cogvane by email to [email protected] or by post to 56 Thalang Road, Talat Yai, Phuket 83000, Thailand.

14. Changes to Terms

Cogvane may update these Terms from time to time. The revised version will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of our services or this website after such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. For significant changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify Clients directly.
